Akai Demonstrates New M.E.S.A. Software For DPS Series

February 17, 2000 -- Akai demonstrates their new M.E.S.A. software designed specifically for their DPS line at the February NAMM show. Created to utilize the ease and convenience of Akai’s Digital Personal Studio line, the new M.E.S.A. (Modular Editing System) software provides an enhanced feature set and a full range automation options to the recently expanded DPS product line.

The new software is available for both Macintosh® and Windows® users and provides new mixer setup options and additional transport control including full MIDI Machine Control implementation. Also included are additional machine setup parameters such as sync, frame rate, sampling frequency, and to-and-from time.

Mixer automation options are also enhanced and allow direct control of fader, pan, and EQ movements during recording, playback and editing. The DPS M.E.S.A. software is now available for download, free of charge, on the Akai Web Site - www.akaipro.com. DPS customers may also contact Akai Parts Sales at 817-831-9203 for further information.

Redefining direct-to-disk recording, the newly introduced DPS12i is a complete digital studio - combining a 12-track random-access, professional quality digital disk recorder and digital mixer in one. The DPS12i eliminates the need for complex product interfacing, while keeping data in the digital domain.
