biasPEAK 2.1 Now Shipping
February 23, 2000 -- Berkley Integrated Audio Software (BIAS) announces that the latest version of its flag-ship biasPEAK digital audio software is now available and shipping. A tool for Macintosh stereo mastering, waveform editing, and effects has been significantly improved. Some of the new 2.1 features include: FASTER SAMPLING RATES from the new industry-wide standard of 96kHz all the way up to 10MHz (!). ASIO SUPPORT Now biasPEAK works with any ASIO-compatible soundcard, including the MOTU 2408/1224, Layla/Gina/ Darla, E-Mu APS, Digidesign Pro Tools Project II and AudioMedia III, Sonorus STUDI/O, Yamaha DSP Factory, Lexicon Core 2, and the RME DIGI Series. NON-DESTRUCTIVE RECORDING of new audio wherever youd like within existing audio files, including punching-in at any point, or else extending the beginning or end of a track. BATCH FILE REGION EXPORT automates the processing of regions within multiple files. ASIO support was originally supposed to be part of the next generation of biasPEAK, says Steve Berkley, President of BIAS. But when we realized how many of our customers had invested in ASIO hardware, we sped up the development timetable. The people who use our products are incredibly important to us, and we didnt want to make them wait. The new 2.1 release is available in five ver-sions: biasPEAK le , an entry-level version; biasPEAK, the standard version; biasPEAK-TDM, with TDM support; and Powerbook Editions of both biasPEAK and biasPEAK le. The Powerbook editions include the Digigram VXpocket PCMCIA card and both ASIO and Sound Manager drivers to bring digital audio recording to the laptop. biasPEAK's MSRP is $299 in the United States, or $499 for the TDM version. Existing owners of version 2.0 can upgrade for free. Owners of older versions can upgrade at a nominal cost. To find out more visit the BIAS web site at www.bias-inc.com.
