Emagic to Support RocketPower

February 10, 2000 -- Emagic announces support of Rocket Network's RocketPower technology by the Logic Audio series. This development further exemplifies Emagic's commitment to creating cooperative partnerships and their dedication to support emerging standards in computer enhanced music production.

The integration of the innovative RocketPower technology will allow all Logic Audio users to interactively produce music together via the Internet. The implementation of RocketPower together with Rocket Network's client software effectively transforms Logic Audio into a front end for a virtual recording studio where users can share all MIDI, audio and mix data belonging to a server-based music project.Logic Rocket

The first manifestation of Emagic's support of Rocket Network's system will come as a RocketPowered version of Logic Audio called Logic Rocket. Available for free download at Harmony-Central.com, this introductory piece of software nevertheless contains impressive features familiar from its larger siblings, such as virtually unlimited MIDI tracks, Emagic's famous Arrange window, Score, Matrix and Event Editors, Quicktime/AVI support, Standard MIDI file support and four stereo audio tracks. Bouncing the audio tracks is also possible. In addition to these local audio tracks, the number of audio tracks accessible to each online user per Rocket Network session is virtually unlimited, depending only on the user's computer power. MIDI and audio tracks are summed in the Track Mixer, giving easy control over GM, GS and XG standard MIDI parameters. Each audio channel in the mixer features two EQ bands and two FX sends to a chorus and a reverb, based on Emagic's renowned proprietary plug-ins.The Logic Rocket advantage

Because Logic Rocket will be available for both Mac and Windows, users have the unique possibility to explore for themselves the extraordinary potential of making music on a truly global scale, regardless of space, time and the boundaries of operating systems.Rocket Extension for Logic Audio Rocket Network's technology will also become available for users of the Logic Audio series in the form of the Rocket Extension. This optional software module will extend the feature set of the free Logic Rocket much further.Availability

Logic Rocket will be available for download free of charge in mid-February 2000 from Harmony Central.com, see dedicated press releases for more details. The Rocket Extension will be available in April 2000, price TBA.

Rocket Network CEO Pam Miller sits on the board of Harmony Central's parent company, HarmonyCentral.com. Rocket and Harmony Central also have both received funding from Vulcan Northwest, Inc.
