Fender Introduces Stratocoustic and Telecoustic Guitars
February 3, 2000 -- Fender Acoustics announces the introduction of two new guitars to its family of acoustic instruments - the Stratacoustic and Telecoustic guitars. Based on the classic Fender electric guitar designs of the Stratocaster and Telecaster, these new thinline acoustic guitars offer an alternative to the traditional acoustic/electric body styles currently available. "We want to offer Fender players something different, yet familiar in an acoustic guitar," adds Rizzuto. "These body styles are recognized the world over as being truly 'Fender'. Now, guitarists can have that association with their acoustic as well." Both the Stratacoustic and Telecoustic are thinline guitars made with a solid spruce top. This is coupled with a one-piece fiberglass back and sides that compliments both the top's light weight and resonance. Both feature a bolt on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Each has its respective traditional Fender headstock design with die-cast chrome plated tuners, and each has a piezo pickup with 3-band EQ for playing amplified. The Stratacoustic and Telecoustic guitars will be available in January, 2000. United States MSRP for each is $429.99. For more information contact Fender at www.fender.com.
