DST-4 Guitar Preamp
January 18, 1996 -- Applied Research & Technology introduces the DST - 4, a professional, programmable guitar preamp with user-editable digital effects. The DST - 4 has four distortion types with storable EQ and level settings. These include XTREME distortion, Scream, Retro and the new Twin-man Tube overdrive circuit that utilizes a 12 AX7 tube. Along with the distortion modes, there is a 3 band EQ with sweepable mids, allowing the user to fine tune their sound. The 16 bit digital presets have adjustable and programmable parameters, and include Chorus, Flange, Reverb, Delay, Pitch shift, Dual Pitch shift, detune and doubling delay effects. The unit has MIDI In and Out / Thru, and has "Send and Remember" (tm) MIDI Program change programming. Designed and manufactured in the U.S.A., the DST - 4 also has two separate connection options: the unit can interface perfectly with a combo set-up and/or a power amp/cabinet set-up. It's construction is of steel and aluminum, with an internal power supply. It has stereo and headphone outputs, and a distortion and effects on/off footswitch jack.
