Fender New 5 Year Transferable WarrantyJanuary 18, 1996 -- Fender has introduced a new retail support program designed to give authorized dealers yet another reason to sell Fender products-a limited, 5 Year Transferable Warranty on all Amplifier and Pro Audio products sold in the U.S. and Canada. The warranty, which became official as of September 1, 1995, extends the company's previous warranty commitment and creates an additional sales opportunity by ensuring warranty coverage to be in effect if the unit is sold by the original owner within the warranty period. The warranty itself is simple in nature. A customer keeps their original receipt at time of purchase. If the product is ever resold, the original receipt may be endorsed over to the new owner, and the balance of the 5 year warranty remains in effect on the resold product. Customer awareness and dealer support of the new program will be created with specially designed hang tags which will be shipped on all participating product lines. Also, the company will offer wall posters which can be hung in-store to promote the program. Along with using the Fender name and history of reliability as a sales benefit, dealers can now show perspective buyers that, if purchased, their product retains a higher market value because of the transferable warranty. "For 50 years, Fender has designed, built and sold a fantastic array of electronic products," said Jack Shelton, Senior V.P. Marketing for Fender Musical Instruments. "With a legacy and rich heritage behind us, we are determined that the best is yet to come! As we begin construction of our third electronics facility, a new 100,000 square foot plant in Corona, California, it is for our dealers and their customers that we make this new commitment."
