Slash and Marshall Join Forces

January 18, 1996 -- Marshall Amplification has recently reissued Slash's beloved Jubilee 2555 100 Watt head (1987) in his honor. A cooperative effort, the JCM Slash Signature Limited Edition model was created especially for Slash (of Guns 'n' Roses and Slash's Snakepit fame).

"Slash is a player I've been particularly aware of over the past decade and his name is constantly brought up by other guitarists as a reference to great tone," states managing director and company founder, Jim Marshall. "His emotive yet fiery style is, in many ways, timeless. It draws on influences from the sixties and seventies but is played with a thoroughly modern attitude. Also, in addition to being a truly great guitarist, Slash personifies the true spirit of rock 'n' roll. Whenever he's not on stage or in the studio with his own bands, he can always be found jamming with someone else from performing live with Michael Jackson at the 1995 MTV awards to being personally invited by blues legend BB King to perform at his 70th birthday concert.

Slash and I finally met the day before Slash's Snakepit played in front of 70,000 people at the 1995 Donnington Festival in England, a gig he was personally invited to do by the event's headliners, Metallica. After discussing his amp of choice and his genuine love for Marshall in general, I decided it was time to reissue this great head as the Limited Edition JCM Slash Signature amp." Mr. Marshall continued.

Slash added, "This is the amp that has made six pretty successful albums, done countless sessions, survived two riots, three world tours and my inflexible approach to a specific sound...and I wouldn't even consider trying anything else."

In addition to producing his own signature amp, Slash is also appearing in a promotional ad campaign for Marshall Amplification. The campaign targets the release of the JCM Slash, as well as emphasizes Slash's relationship and history with Marshall. The JCM Slash Signature will be custom built during 1996 and features specially selected quality components plus a hand-built inter-leaved output transformer.
