Lyrrus introduces G-VOX Musician Plus

January 18, 1996 -- Fender distributes Musician Plus through its dealer network Lyrrus Incorporated, the number one interactive music technology company, announces that it will add composition software to its popular G-VOX Musician package.

The new Musician Plus will contain the G-VOX Pickup and Belt Pack and several software products including Riffs and Collection Library, Tour Venue 1, Basics CD-ROM Sampler, and the G-VOX Windows or Mac OMS Driver and composition software. Musician Plus is being distributed exclusively through Authorized Fender Musical Instrument Dealers.

G-VOX links electric or acoustic guitars to a Macintosh or IBM PC-compatible computer so that guitarists can see what they play - note by note, fret by fret. It is the only interactive technology that allows the guitarist to play with an unaltered, real instrument of the finest quality. The Musician Plus gives users everything they need in one box: the hardware as well as instructional and composition software.

The addition of the composition software will be made possible because of the introduction of a G-VOX to MIDI driver for Mac users in Winter 1996. The OMS driver is an inexpensive and accurate way to directly link a guitar to any sequencing or notation software.

The G-VOX Driver, developed by Lyrrus Incorporated, was introduced in 1994 as an advanced Windows driver that allows the guitarist to go directly from an acoustic or electric guitar to top Windows-based sequencers and notation software. Now computer users of both platforms can take advantage of G-VOX's tracking speed and accuracy for recording into MIDI sequencers using the G-VOX Pickup and Belt Pack. Within minutes, the guitar becomes a MIDI input device for home recording.

"Our composition software has proven to be a very powerful composing tool for IBM users," said Jonathan Coopersmith, head of Lyrrus Development. "We are very excited that guitarists who use Mac computers will now have the same ability - to use their own compose and record."

The introduction of Musician Plus and the OMS Driver now gives guitarists everything they need to play better and compose, edit and print their music. To support the new bundle, Lyrrus is planning a major advertising campaign for 1996 that will feature Musician Plus and promote the free G-VOX video offer.
