Peavey Spectrum® Sample Player
January 18, 1996 -- Peavey Electronics announces the Spectrum(R) Sample Player, a sample playback module which reads Akai S-1000 banks from CD-ROM or any SCSI storage medium. It includes 2 MB of internal sample RAM and will support up to 32 MB using standard SlMMs. Offering 24-voice polyphony, single oscillator architecture with 3-pole filter, two envelope generators, LFO and pan per voice, the architecture of the Spectrum Sample Player will play S-1000 volumes verbatim; there is no translation involved. The Spectrum Sample Player allows basic editing of playback parameters such as MIDI channels, MIDI filters, note priority, play ranges, transpose, loudness, pan, etc. The Spectrum Sample Player will also save to any SCSI device, allowing these settings to be stored with the volume. In addition to the playback of S-1000 volumes, the Spectrum Player will play samples created with the SX II and/or any computer-based sample editing or programming application. This is made possible by the compatibility of the Sample Player with the Peavey SX II sample capture module and the support of the SMDI and MIDI file transfer formats. Features
