Boss SX-700 Studio Effects Processor

January 18, 1996 -- Following in the footsteps of powerful dedicated units like the Roland SDE-330 Dimensional Space Delay and the SRV-330 Dimensional Space Reverb, the new BOSS SX-700 Studio Effects Processor offers multiple effects capability, while maintaining a studio quality signal-to-noise ratio. That's right, the SX-700 combines the kind of high-end effects and low noise threshold usually reserved for only the most expensive of dedicated effects processors.

This single rack space unit offers traditional effects like reverb and delay along with a full collection of modulation-type effects like chorus, flange and more. The SX-700 provides access to as many as five effects simultaneously. There are 27 different effects available. Special new features include three-dimensional panning (the first of its kind in this price range) and a four-voice intelligent pitch shifter. The 3-D panning utilizes Roland's proprietary RSS technology and can be combined with delay or reverb. Parametric EQ, ducking delay and tap tempo delay are great additions, as is the fantastic reverb which was actually borrowed from the SRV-330.

The SX-700 operates in true stereo. Realtime parameter control is possible via MIDI Control Change or an expression pedal. There are 256 patch locations including 128 user patches and 128 factory patches. Superior sound quality is ensured as a result of 18-bit A/D/A conversion and 44.1kHz sampling rate. Frequency response is 5Hz - 50kHz (direct) and 12Hz - 20kHz (effect). A selectable input level (+4/-20dBm) makes the SX-700 perfect for live sound reinforcement, as well as for studio work.

The SX-700 offers exciting, expressive effects, studio quality sound and affordability, in a compact single space design. Add an intuitive user interface, full MIDI implementation and superior signal-to-noise ratio and you've got one great unit. The SX-700 Studio Effects Processor: setting a new standard for studio quality multi-effects.
