Cubase Audio 1.6 for WindowsJanuary 18, 1996 -- Cubase Audio 1.6 supports the extensive hard disk recording functions of Session8 and Yamaha's CBX D3/D5, and now also allows recording, playback and editing of digital audio with Windows sound cards. This makes Cubase Audio 1.6 the sequencing/ digital audio software with the most extensive hardware compatibility. Steinberg has also announced that during the second quarter of 1996, Cubase Audio will support Digidesign's new AudioMedia III PCI card. The AudioMedia III has 8 internal tracks with stereo l/O, both analog and digital. The analog and digital interface can be simultaneously utilized for a maximum of 4 INS and 4 OUTS. Used in conjunction with AudioMedia III Cubase Audio gives you 8 audio tracks, EQ and automation. All of this hardware support comes straight out of the box. No need to buy additional extensions for every piece of digital hardware supported. It also makes for a seamless upgrade path for somebody starting out on a Windows Soundcard who then upgrades to a Digidesign Session 8 or Yamaha CBX D3/5. Using a sound card won't compromise any of the audio functionality. All destructive and non-destructive functions such as Normalize, Time Stretch, Pitch shift and Reverse are still available for the entry-level user. As with all Steinberg programs, Cubase Audio 1.6 is Windows95 compatible. For Cubasis Audio users, there's a good upgrade deal - for details and conditions, contact your dealer. Registered users of Cubase Audio 1.5 are entitled to a free update. MSRP $799.00 For more information, visit their web site at www.steinberg.net.
