Tascam DA-20 DAT Recorder

January 18, 1996 -- TASCAM is now shipping its new DA-20 DAT Recorder. The DA-20 ushers in a new level of performance at a price point that will make TASCAM DAT technology more affordable than ever. Equipped with multiple sampling rates, long play/record mode, S/PDIF digital l/O and a wireless remote controller, this 3U rackmountable recorder will be right at home in any personal or project studio environment.

The DA-20's ergonomic conscious design makes it a pleasure to operate. All controls are placed exactly where you expect to find them. Select the sampling frequency (48/44.1/32kHz), adjust record levels, and start recording. Easy! And if content is more important than resolution, the DA-20 can even provide up to four hours of operation on a single tape by taking advantage of it's long play / record mode. This feature makes the DA-20 an excellent tool for capturing lengthy presentations or for extended playback of program material. The DA-20's display area is large, easy to read, and will keep you up-to-date on every aspect of its operational status.

Communicating with other digital devices is easily accomplished via the DA-20's S/PDIF digital ports. Analog connections are made using RCA pin jacks. Once you're patched in, you'll appreciate the convenience of the DA-20's included full-function wireless remote controller.

The DA-20 sounds terrific. With specifications typically found in much higher priced units, this capable DAT recorder delivers great sound quality that will please the most discriminating audio professional.

Incorporating the sophistication, full-featured functionality, and ease of operation synonymous with the TASCAM name, the DA-20 sets a new standard for affordable DAT. With a suggested retail price of only $1099.00, the TASCAM DA-20 is a 'sound' investment.
