January 16, 1997 -- Part of the highly modular Korg SoundLink Digital Recording Systems (DRS) introduced at today's opening of the NAMM Show, the SoundLink DRS 1212 I/O PCI Multi-Channel Audio Interface card, working in conjunction with Macromedia's highly acclaimed Deck II Software, brings full functionality of multi-channel computer-based digital recording to a new affordable price point. Deck II is the first software package to support the 1212. The SoundLink DRS 1212 I/O PCI Multi-Channel Audio Interface card 12 inputs and 12 outputs configured as a pair of analog I/Os, an S/PDIF I/O and an eight-channel ADAT optical I/O, all of which can be used simultaneously for maximum interface flexibility, ranging from simple stereo analog and stereo digital configurations to full multi-channel operations. Fully synchronizeable, the SoundLink DRS1212 I/O PCI Multi-Channel Audio Interface card is equipped with a Word Clock input and output, as well as an input for ADAT time code. The 1212 I/O also conforms to the new PCI standard for the computer industry, which means that it's a durable investment for the future. Deck II, from Macromedia, is an award-winning software package specifically designed for digital audio applications. Featuring full-function multi-channel digital recording, cut-and-paste editing, and supporting Quick Time video with synchronized audio/video scrubbing, Deck II is the industry's most comprehensive audio software package. Combined with the new SoundLink DRS 1212 I/O PCI Multi-Channel Audio Interface card, digital audio users will have access to new enhanced levels of creativity and functionality. As part of the new Korg SoundLink Digital Recording Systems, the SoundLink DRS 1212 I/O PCI Multi-Channel Audio Interface card is also compatible with the new SoundLink DRS 880 A/D audio interface, an eight-channel analog-to-ADAT optical interface used to expand the analog inputs of the SoundLink DRS 168RC Digital Recording Console or the SoundLink DRS 1212 I/Os. The SoundLink DRS 880 A/D audio interface has eight balanced analog inputs, two with mic pre-amps. The 880's front panel allows routing of signals in pairs to the rear panel ADAT optical output. System synchronization is via word clock input and clock selector for internal, ADAT input or word clock input. The SoundLink DRS 1212 I/O PCI Multi-Channel Audio Interface card is a highly functional, cost-effective digital audio management system on its own. It is also part of the new Korg SoundLink Digital Recording Systems, which also includes the SoundLink DRS 168RC Digital Recording Console, the SoundLink DRS RM8 Reference Monitors and the SoundLink DRS 880 A/D-D/A Converters. Together or individually, each of these components brings affordable digital recording to new heights. For more information, visit their web site at www.korg.com.
