Applied Magic Delivers Professional Quality 20-bit Audio At Winter NAMM Show '98

January 29, 1998 -- If you desire digital audio editing without compromise, Applied Magic's may be the audio card you've been looking for. OnStage represents the first studio-quality 20-bit audio editing card for WindowsNT. With four balanced XLR (+4dBu) analog I/Os, and AES/EBU digital I/O, OnStage delivers sound quality not previously available on the PC.

Audiophiles are becoming aware of the fact that editing digital audio expands word length, and this can lead to truncation, loss, and grainy and lifeless sound. OnStage is the first PC-based PCI card to process word lengths of 20 bits, so truncation and loss is minimized or avoided when editing. As a result, OnStage is also the first PC card with a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 100dB and a dynamic range of 99dB.

With SMPTE LTC timecode, and MIDI I/O, OnStage is an ideal board for musicians who want digital multitracking and mixing capability right on their PC, or for videographers doing audio for video. OnStage also features video genlock, which goes a step beyond SMPTE, providing perfect synchronization of audio to video down to sub-frame accuracy. OnStage offers 32-bit processing and a 40 MHz digital signal processor, and ships complete with the OnStage Digital Audio Driver, OnStage Mixer, 6' XLR octopus cable for analog and digital I/O, and a 6' MIDI cable.

OnStage carries a MSRP of $1595.00 (US) and is available NOW through quality audio and video dealers and Applied Magic's network of national/international distributors.
