Arboretum Debuts New Hyperprism-DX 1.1 for PC/Windows

January 29, 1998 -- Arboretum Systems is unveiling the new Windows/DirectX version of Hyperprism, their award-winning audio effects software, at the NAMM show in Los Angeles this week. The 1.1 upgrade to Hyperprism-DX features new vocoder, frequency shifter, reverb and distortion effects, and dongle protection has now been eliminated.

Hyperprism-DX consists of more than two dozen different digital audio plug-ins for use with any Microsoft Direct-X (or Active Movie) compatible application. Each effect is controlled by simple on-screen sliders, or use Hyperprism's familiar Blue Window(TM) graphic interface for fast, intuitive parameter setting. Instant RAM-based preview allows users to quickly shape their sounds, then the effect is rendered as a destructive, filebased process. Effect settings are remembered by Hyperprism, making it easy to apply the same process to any number of files. Convenient presets allow the creation and saving of an unlimited number of custom settings for later use.

Hyperprism-DX version 1.1 includes the following effects: Vocoder - Frequency Shifter * HyperVerb - Distortion - Pitch Changer - Compressor - Room Reverb - Hall Reverb Ring Modulator Single Delay - Multi Delay - Echo - EchoTranZ(TM) - Low Pass Filter High Pass Filter Band Pass Filter Band Reject Filter - Phaser - Flanger - Chorus - Tremolo - Vibrato - Pan - Auto Pan Noise Gate - Quasi Stereo - Stereo Dynamics More Stereo - Sonic Decimator(TM)

The new Hyperprism Vocoder allows you to select any waveform as a modulator, and Arboretum's new HyperVerb offers strikingly realistic ambience simulation. The 1.1 release of H-DX also features improvements to the installation procedure, new on-line help files, enhancements to the numeric parameter displays and simple, non-intrusive serial number copy protection.

Hyperprism-DX requires a Pentium computer and Windows 95 plus any Microsoft Direct-X (or Active Movie) compatible audio host application, such as Cakewalk Pro Audio, Sound Forge, WaveLab, Cubase VST for Windows, Cool Edit Pro and others.

Hyperprism-DX is part of the Hyperprism product family, which also includes special versions for Pro Tools/TDM, Power Mac native-processing applications, Cubase VST and 68000-series Macintoshes. First introduced in 1994, Hyperprism is used by thousands of professional recording engineers, sound designers, video/film postproduction facilities and broadcasters.

Hyperprism-DX is developed and marketed by Arboretum Systems, Inc., a privately-held California firm. Hyperprism-DX version 1.1 ships in the first quarter of 1998 at a U.S. suggested retail price of $299.00, international pricing may vary. Hyperprism-DX v1.1 is a free upgrade for registered owners of version 1.0.
