DOD Unveils Dimension Series Processors
January 29, 1998 -- DOD is launching a new cost-effective, multi-purpose family of signal processors known as the Dimension Series at NAMM '98 in Los Angeles, California. Built with the live sound and home studio markets in mind, the DOD 'Dimension3' is a 2-in/2-out stereo digital multi-effects processor boasting one of the least-complicated operating systems on the market. Simply choose one of the D3's 16 possible effect categories with a rotary pot, adjust either or both of the two available effect parameter knobs and that's it! The perfect sound can be achieved in only a matter of seconds. There's a high-quality, full-frequency digital effect for every application-including Reverbs, Delays, Chorus, Flange, Phase Shift, Rotary Speaker, Pitch/Detune and Tremolo/Pan--and they're all at the user's fingertips with the simple turn of a few knobs. The D3 requires only a single rack space, and connections are made via 1/4-inch jacks on its rear panel. Rotary knobs for input level, mix and output level, as well as LEDs for signal L&R, clip and bypass round out this elegantly simple piece of gear. DOD's new 'Dimension6' offers all the processing power of the Dimension3 times two. Still only requiring a single rack space, this 4-in/4-out dual-stereo digital multi-effects processor has every one of the D3's broad, spacious reverbs, thick chorus and flange, and tight, clean delays. And the operating system is every bit as intuitive and simple as the D3. To increase the effect, turn one knob. To adjust delay time, turn one knob. Simple enough? Designed specifically for the DJ and project studio markets, the 'Dimesion12' is a stereo delay that puts incredible sampling power at its user's fingertips. The D12 features an impressive 24-second sampler boasting four banks of six-second sampling or two banks of 12-second sampling. A Stutter button provides 'hip' real time control, while a Reverse function and an LFO can twist samples into submission. Editing samples is a snap, thanks to a large jog/shuttle wheel and LED display that allows users to put edit points right where they're needed. Additional controls include Loop, Effect, Tap Tempo, Delay and Gate, as well as knobs for Speed, Depth, Feedback and Mix make this an extremely flexible, yet easy-to-understand, sampling and delay system. DJs rejoice! Suggested U.S. retail pricing on the Dimension Series is as follows:
