Denon DN-T620 Cassette Deck/CD Player

January 29, 1998 -- Denon Electronics' new DN-T620 is a successor to its popular DN-610F, which combined a professional-quality cassette deck and CD player in a single 3U, rack-mountable chassis. Offering the functions of two independent units, the DN-T620 CD cassette recorder includes a number of new functions.

Designed for churches, schools, restaurants and a variety of other music-source applications, the DN-T620 allows users to create their own recordings from disc to cassette, or mix sounds from both sources. When combined with a mixer, sounds from a CD and microphone can be mixed and recorded to the cassette deck. This versatility is perfect for custom-made background music or pre-recorded announcements.

New functions on the CD player section of the DN-T620 include a variable pitch of +/-12 percent of playback speed, an A-B Repeat mode, Single/Continuous Playback mode and a Back Cue function. Digital servo adjustment for the unit's CD player has been automated so that the optimum setting is always obtained for the type of CD being played and any changes occurring in the pickup over the years. The player also uses a hologram laser pickup identical to the one found in Denon's highly-successful DN-200OF MKII, which suffers considerably less alteration over time than standard pickups, extending its life.

New to the cassette deck's functionality is the ability to switch tile input source between the internal CD player and external line input. Like its predecessor, the DN-T620's cassette player features an auto-reverse Full-Logic mechanism and Dolby(R) B Noise Reduction. Pitch may be adjusted up to +/-12% of playback speed. Input level for recording is adjustable, and a memory rewind (Return-to-Zero) is offered.

Several other general improvements are offered, including the addition of a headphone Jack with dedicated volume control, a headphone source select switch to monitor one of the two media, a terminal for a wired remote and balanced XLR inputs and outputs.

Suggested U.S. retail price on the DN-T620 is $750.00.
