DigiTech RP-3 Guitar Effects Processor

January 29, 1998 -- DigiTech's new RP3 is a value-priced guitar multi-effects processor for the floor that doesn't skimp on features.

Housed in a bright yellow metal chassis, the compact RP3 allows up to nine of its popular effects-including Wahs, a Compressor, two Distortions, three-band EQ, Gates, Swells, Modulation effects (such as Chorus and Flange), Pitch Shifters, Delays, Reverbs and Cabinet Emulators-to be used at one time. The Intelligent Pitch Shifter provides perfect dual-voice harmonies in any key using a wide range of popular scale modes, while the processor's Delay can provide up to 3.5 seconds of delay time. An on-board expression pedal is also available to offer guitarists real-time control of their volume and other effects parameters. From 'bluesy' tones to 'metal mania', the RP3 covers it all.

For those wanting to play along with their favorite bands, the Jam-a-Long(TM) jack provides an input for a CD or tape player. Simply connect the headphone output of a playback device to the Jam-a-Long input, and guitarists can play along with their favorite artists. And, with the RP3's Learn-a-Lick(TM) feature, guitarists can sample riffs from their CD players or cassette decks, slow them down without changing the pitch, and learn how to play them much more quickly and easily. There's even a built-in chromatic tuner to eliminate the need for another piece of equipment.

Being the least expensive S-DISC II(R)-based guitar effects processor on the market, the RP3 is definitely an excellent value for the money. Suggested U.S. retail price on the DigiTech RP3 is $299.95.
