Digidesign Releases Masterlist CD (TM) Version 2.0

January 29, 1998 -- Digidesign has released version 2.0 of MasterList CD (TM) , their popular CD authoring/mastering software program. Version 2.0 adds support for Digidesign's new Pro Tools®|24 system and offers stunning performance improvements over previous versions.

MasterList CD version 2.0 is the first version of this program to be host-based, no longer requiring Digidesign audio hardware. Running on a Power PC-equipped Macintosh and a qualified Digidesign supported CD recorder, MasterList CD 2.0 allows the user to record directly to CD at 2x and 4x write speeds. Supported Digidesign hardware (currently Pro Tools|24 and Audiomedia III) may be utilized for improved output monitoring and digital output.

MasterList CD 2.0 is available world-wide at a suggested US list price of $495. Pro Tools 12,4 users who are also registered MasterList CD owners will receive the upgrade at no charge. Other eligible customers who wish to upgrade to host-based processing may do so for $49. The MasterList CD 2.0 package will also include version 1.4.1 for compatibility with 68k-based Digidesign systems and for Power Macintosh users wishing to use MasterList CD and Pro Tools III or Pro Tools Project hardware for analog and digital output.
