Spatializer Updates Acclaimed Plug-in

Spatializer MID now compatible with Digidesign's Pro Tools 4.1

January 29, 1998 -- Spatializer Audio Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAZ), a leading developer and licensor of next-generation technologies for the consumer electronics, multimedia computing and entertainment industries, today announced the release of Spatializer® PT3D(TM), version 1.4. The update, which will be provided free to registered users for a limited period, makes Spatializer PT3D compliant with Pro Toolso 4.1, and adds new features, including automation capability and support for the Mackie Designs® HUI(TM).

The first software plug-in ever to be nominated for a TEC (Technical Excellence and Creativity) award, Spatializer PT3D enables precise, real-time positioning of sounds through use of the Pro Tools mixer panning controls, providing a familiar way to achieve unheard-of results. Using only a single DSP chip on a DSP farm, the user can position an unlimited number of sounds in 3-D space. The 3-D effect can be heard over any two speakers without decoding, and is surround-, broadcast- and mono-compatible.

Spatializer PT3D contains the patented Spatializer 3-D Stereo technology which has been widely adopted by the professional recording community, and used to enhance hundreds of television broadcasts, motion pictures and compact discs by such renowned recording artists as Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand, and Bonnie Raitt.

For availability, pricing and information on an upgrade, readers are encouraged to call Spatializer at 818/227-3370, or e-mail pt3d@spatializer.com.
