Emagic Announces New Audiowerk8 DriversJanuary 29, 1998 -- Emagic announces new Audiowerk8 drivers. Any application supporting the operating system standards, will be able to individually address the 8 outputs of Audiowerk8. Audiowerk8 MME Driver Version 2.0 This new fully native driver supports the new Windows96 standard Multi Channel Interleaved. Interleaved means, that the transfer of audio channels is handled like stereo drivers except that 8 channels will be "nested" in time, instead of just 2. This way, the "technical trick" of multiple synchronized stereo drivers for the same hardware is avoided. Audiowerk8 Sound Manager Driver Version 1.0 This driver offers 2 channel recording and 8 channel playback. With Audiowerk8, Emagic is one of the first hardware manufacturers to support the new MacOS multi-channel audio standard which was released during an Apple developer conference in late 1997. Availability The new drivers are shipping now. Owners of older Audiowerk8 cards can download the new drivers from Emagic's homepage free of charge.
