Engineered Percussion Introduces Vortex Hi-Hats

January 29, 1998 -- The new "Vortex" line of professional hardware is made for those drummers who are looking for a lightweight flexible solution for their setup and performance needs. All parts are machined of structural grade aircraft aluminum and steel for strength, stability and a great reduction in weight. Hi-quality grade '8' fasteners are stronger and more serviceable than current industry standard rivets.

The shape and design of the leg assembly is not just for looks. The "cyclone" or "vortex" shape has a key advantage over the typical hardware design that is being produced by most of today's drum manufacturers. As the normal load forces (i.e. impact shock during playing) are applied, the stand absorbs the shock by coiling or twisting about it's center axis. This "spring like" rotation gives the stand the appearance of twisting into the ground creating added stability as opposed to the bouncing that occurs with traditional rigid braced legs. The twin cylindrical rubber feet on the end of each leg otters an increase in the floor contact area of the legs and reduces creeping.

AXIS VHH- Performance Hi-Hat

The new AXIS AX-VHH is a real high performance hi-hat. Now your hi-hat can finally play with the same precision and accuracy that is demanded from a 2nd bass drum pedal thanks to the new "precision-pull" roller bearing design. The AX-VHH brings new meaning to the term "4 way coordination".

Precise spring tension is easily attained through the use of the 6 way 'Set and Forget' pedal tension adjustment. Now you can quickly change and remember the pedal tension that is needed for different musical styles.

The VHH is made of lightweight, yet tough, solid aluminum. The innovative new 'Vortex' double braced leg design is both strong and durable. The leg assembly on the VHH was designed so that it can freely rotate into any position for easier double pedal placement and has the ability to tilt in any direction.

The 3 point feltless cymbal cradle combined with the AXIS PRO CLUTCH (included) adds definition to any pair of cymbals. The clutch system also allows you to tilt both the top and bottom cymbals if you are using the tilting leg feature.

Suggested retail price: AX-VHH -- $259.00.

AXIS XHH- Precision Hi-Hat

The AX-XHH has all the same features as the AX-VHH but in an ultra- light single braced "VORTEX" version and includes a standard clutch.

Suggested retail price: AX-XHH -- $239.00.
