Ludwig's Weather Master Drumheads Return

January 29, 1998 -- Ludwig first developed plastic drumheads back in the late 50's under the name of Weather Master. Well they're back. Ludwig Weather Master Drumheads are designed for outfit, concert, and marching drums. They offer great sound, durability, and response for rock, jazz, concert band, orchestra, and marching use.

Tom heads are sized from 6" to 18" diameters while bass drum heads range from 18" to 40" diameters. Snare drum batter heads are available from 12" to 15" diameters, with snare side heads range from 13' to 15". Drumhead types include, White Coated, Clear, Smooth White, Silver Dot, Black, Power Collar, and Coated Silver Dot, and snare side heads. Available in 10ml "heavy" mylar or 7.5ml "medium" mylar weights.

Jim Catalano, Ludwig Marketing Manager stated, "Weather Master Drumheads are manufactured in Ludwig's USA Plant in Monroe, NC. Although we have replaced the Ludwig Strider, Rocker, and Ensemble marketing system, the Weather Master Drumheads are made with the same unique mechanical headlock system and guaranteed not to pull out. So we simplified our marketing system offering one line of heads with multiple applications and a reduced, one price system per diameter."

Ludwig Weather Master Drumheads are also available in ported front bass drum heads w/ Ludwig's block style logo and the Vintage front bass drum heads w/ vintage script logo. Also available are extended and regular collar Timpani Drumheads in clear and white, ranging from 20" to 32" diameters. And let's not forget Ludwig Banjo Heads in clear, coated white, smooth white.

Ludwig/Musser Industries is a division of The Selmer Company Inc., and Steinway Musical Products, a leading manufacturer of Band, Orchestra, Percussion Instruments and Accessories, and Grand Pianos.
