Remo Introduces Masteredge Snare Drums

January 29, 1998 -- Remo, Inc. recently unveiled its new line of MasterEdge Special Edition snare drums featuring advanced Acousticon H/D shells, Molded Bearing Edges and Renaissance heads, as well as a special introductory Sweepstakes for both drummers and dealers. In announcing the introduction Remo Sales and Marketing manager, Mike Morse, stressed the exclusive features and extensive field-testing that the Remo drum-design team put into the new drums.

"Based on input from dozens of the world's top drummers we developed and applied several new technologies in the creation of these drums, including our patented Molded Bearing Edges and the next generation of Acousticon drumshell material- Acousticon H/D " comments Morse. "The top and bottom Molded Bearing Edges give the drum unprecedented consistency, stability and sensitivity while Acousticon H/D (High Density) allows us to make a thinner, stronger shell with noticeably increased low-end warmth and high-end projection. The feedback we've received at consumer and trade-shows over the past 12 months has highlighted the exceptional tone and response these drums are capable of."

Special Edition MasterEdge snare drums are initially being offered in 3 1/2", 5 1/2", 7" and 8" by 14" models with Remo's new Renaissance Ambassador batter and snare side heads, RT-600 drop-style throw-off, chrome-plated die- cast counterhoops and a choice of Satinwood and Thunder Black stained Venwood finishes. Suggested retail prices range from $375 to $540, making the MasterEdge Special Edition drums among the most affordable custom snare drums on the market.

Furthermore, to help introduce the drums to dealers and drummers, Remo is running a special sales promotion in conjunction with Drum! magazine during March, April and May, 1998. To enter the sweepstakes drummers must visit a participating dealer, "test-drive" any Remo snare drum and then filI out and return the official entry form. Five randomly drawn entries and their favorite dealer will each win a Remo Snare drum of their choice. Second and Third place prizes include a selection of Remo Drumhead Pro-Packs and Remo T-Shirts.
