S&S Industries Introduces SR-1 Drum Pads
January 29, 1998 -- The SR-1 drum pads are the first affordably priced gum rubber surface 10.5" electronic drum trigger pads to handle the full range of options available on all electronic drum sound/trigger modules. The SR-1 is designed as a single or dual zone pad with the ability to access the additional features found on the Roland TD-5 and Yamaha DTX such as cymbal choking and dual sounds on one input using a stereo cable. The SR-1 also provides two separate trigger zones to allow for virtual position detection with two complementary sounds on one pad. The SR-1 accesses these two zones by using two mono inputs on the Alesis Dm5 Roland TD-5 and Yamaha DTX Sound modules. With a gum rubber playing surface, the SR-1 can simulate the feel and stick rebound of an acoustic drum with the light weight and portability of an electronic pad. The SR-1 pads use the S&S Industries built-in mounting clamp system which easily attaches to any drummer's existing rack or tom mount. The SR series individual pads are priced at $149.99 retail. The SR-1 pads can easily be used with the S&S Industries Spitfire EX, a half-rack universal high speed Trigger to MIDI module designed to add ten additional inputs to a drummers existing drum sound module such as the Roland TD-5 or Alesis Dm5. The Spitfire EX can store up to 20 user definable drum kits and has preset and user definable pad types for ease of setup. Priced at $199.99 retail the Spitfire EX is sure to fit in any drummer's budget. For more information, contact Georgia Music Distributors International 2909 Langford Rd.
