The VST Platform

Winter NAMM was packed with all sorts of presentations. This year, we took a look at Steinberg's Cubase VST and recorded the presentation for you. A number of VST PlugIns are discussed, some of which are not yet shipping. The entire presentation is about an hour long, but you can listen to excerpts for specific PlugIns. Please keep in mind that RealAudio sacrifices audio quality.

Roomulator 1:10 A reverb PlugIn from Prosoniq, available for both PC and Mac.

VoxCiter 2:57 A vocal enhancement PlugIn for both Mac and PC by Prosoniq. It includes a number of modules including a noise gate, parametric EQ, compressor, expander, de-esser, and more.

D-Pole 4:35 Sneak Preview This PlugIn from Waldorf takes some of the audio processing features from the MicroWave synthesizer and lets you apply it to audio tracks in VST. Runs on Mac or PC.

Free-D 1:48 This PlugIn from Steinberg allows you to control the 3D placement of sound for the listener. (RealAudio seriously compromises the quality of the effect.) Available for Mac.

Free Filter 3:28 Sneak Preview A 30 band equalizer with the ability to analyze the EQ curve of songs by your favorite artists, and then apply it to your music. Available for both Mac and PC

Magneto 2:31 A PlugIn from Steinberg that simulates analog tape saturation, adding warmth to digital audio. Available for both Mac and PC.

Dynasone 5:37 A multiband compressor PlugIn from Prosoniq. Available for both Mac and PC.
