DOD VGS50 Valve Guitar System Offers Real Tube Tones
January 28, 1999 -- DOD's new VGS50 Valve Guitar System puts both real tube tones and flexible multi-effects processing in an affordable floor-controlled package. The VGS50 utilizes a high-voltage 12AX7 tube to provide four warm analog distortions (Saturated Valve, Clean Valve, Blues Valve and Classic Combo), in addition to the processor's four solid-state distortions (Overdrive, Grunge(TM), American Stack and British Stack). The VGS50 also boasts a total of 18 effects, with up to seven available at once. Chorus, Flange, Delay, Reverb, Ring Modulator, Pixillator, Pitch Bend, Pitch-shifter, Tremolo, EQ, Noise Gate, Phaser, Detune, Envelope Phase and Envelope Flange are all on independent buttons for quick adjustments, while a large rotary knob makes effect parameter editing extremely intuitive. Furthermore, a built-in expression pedal permits real-time control of nine different parameters, such as Analog Wah, Pitch Bend and Volume. DOD's "Learn-a-Lick" feature allows up to 10 seconds of a CD or cassette to be sampled then slowed down-with no change in pitch-to make learning licks and solos a snap. The suggested U.S. retail price on the DOD VGS50 is $299.95. For more information, visit DOD at http://www.dod.com/
