January 28, 1999 -- Digidesign® announces the ToolBox* for Windows bundle, an all-in-one package of audio production tools including everything needed to create professional-sounding audio recordings. Featuring Digidesign's Audiomedia III PCI digital audio card and Session software, Emagic's Logic Audio AV, and Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge XP v4.5 and Acid Rock, ToolBox is the perfect, affordable recording, editing and mixing solution for personal and project studios, multimedia audio production and radio broadcast applications. An exceptional value, ToolBox provides $1,349 worth of products for a retail price of $549.

Products in the ToolBox for Windows bundle include:

  • Digidesign Audiomedia III* card--Enables users to create CD-quality, 16-bit digital recordings with 24-bit internal signal processing and mixing capabilities. Features include two analog inputs, two analog outputs and stereo S/PDIF digital I/O, allowing simultaneous recording of two tracks and playback of eight tracks.
  • Digidesign Session software--This digital audio recording software provides professional-quality recording, editing and automated digital mixing capabilities, allowing users to record up to four direct-to-disk tracks simultaneously and play back up to eight tracks. The software's easy-to-use interface features familiar transport controls and mixing functions.
  • Emagic Logic Audio® AV software--Specifically engineered to run on Digidesign's Audiomedia III card, Logic Audio AV provides digital audio recording and editing, MIDI sequencing and professional scoring capabilities. Also features a variety of built-in real-time DSP effects (EQ, delay, chorus).
  • Sonic Foundry Sound Forge XP 4.5--This software package lets users record, edit and process mono or stereo audio files and sync audio to video quickly and easily, making it perfect for multimedia projects or Internet applications. Sound Forge XP supports a wide variety of popular audio file types, including WAV and Java AU, and includes a variety of effects such as reverb, EQ, distortion, and fade in/out.
  • Sonic Foundry Acid Rock--Featuring over 600 audio loops, including grunge riffs, metal solos and drum fills, Acid Rock lets users create their own original rock music recordings. Loops can be "painted" into a track and played back at any desired tempo and key. Users can build entire compositions or create accompaniment tracks for their own performances.
