Harmony Central is Going to NAMM!

Hi gang, Cliff here. Join Scott, Wilson, Kit Benge (making his Harmony Central debut), and myself as we tour the candy land known as the NAMM (National Association of Music Manufacturers) show. NAMM is a large association (over 6000 companies/members) of music manufacturers. Twice every year the folks at NAMM have a BIG trade show so that their members can show off their wares. The Summer show, which is held in Nashville, is the smaller of the two shows. The Winter NAMM show, held in L.A., is HUGE. You can bet that lots of new products will be announced, displayed, shown, set up for demo, etc. The Exhibitor listing for the event is 27 PAGES LONG! To check out more on the NAMM show, visit their WEB site at www.namm.com.

But NAMM is much more than all this. You can bet there will be big music stars everywhere (I know I'm taking my camera), top name people in all types of music equipment and production, great performances by some of the best players in the world, and of course a sea of musical instruments and products from around 1200 exhibitors.

The problem with NAMM, is that it is really only for insiders (manufacturers, music store owners/buyers, big name artists, and the press), so not everyone that wants to go can. That's where Harmony Central comes in. Everyday during the show (January 27th through the 31st), and for a couple of weeks after, we will be posting all kinds of new articles, press releases, and just plain fun stuff on the Harmony Central web site. We should even have some streaming video from the show floor in conjunction with POPstick. You won't want to miss logging onto HC for this event. We will be trying to give you not only the news, but the flavor and excitement that goes along with this special event.

I personally am going on a "Quest For The Best". I'll be cruising this monster show looking for the 'Top 10' custom guitars and basses. Who will get the first ever coveted Harmony Central "Golden Axe" award? Well . . . it's not gold, and nobody knows about it yet, BUT WHO CARES! There is still going to be lots of great custom guitars and basses to drool over.

Don't think for a minute though, that we forgot about you keyboard players, drummers, singers, producers, tech heads, sampler freaks, etc. etc. etc. There will be more than enough great news and commentary coming from NAMM to entertain you as well.

Sure, you could read about the NAMM show in your favorite magazine sometime in March, or you can join us and read about it as it happens. Be the first in your band to know what is going on.

The NAMM show - Be there . . . or be at Harmony Central!

Keep Jamming,

Cliff
