PRS Announces Left-Handed Guitars
January 28, 1999 -- PRS Guitars has taken one more step towards their goal of making an instrument for every player in the quality end of the electric guitar market with the introduction of left handers for LA NAMM '99. As you would expect from a company that has continually nudged tip quality in this part of the market, PRS left handed guitars are designed and built left-handed from the ground up. Many companies settle for a bunch of right handed components on a reversed body. PRS has spent many months on the tooling and components to do the job properly. All bodies, necks and bridges on the PRS lefties are reversed, all pots have reversed tracks. Even the numbers on the volume and tone knobs go the "wrong" way round! The famous Bird inlays are cut and inlaid left-handed and the full list of PRS options, like gold hardware, are all available to the "Southpaw" customer. There are three left handed models to choose from, McCarty, Custom 22 Tremolo, and Custom 22 Stop-tail. For more information, visit the PRS Guitars web site at www.prsguitars.com.
