PRS Announces Hardware Update Kits

January 28, 1999 -- Owners of original PRS Guitars can now benefit from many of the improvements the company has made to its guitars over the years by fitting the new PRS Update Kit to their instruments.

PRS Guitars has carried out extensive research on bridge and tuner hardware and on the relative effects of changing the types of materials these are made from. The results show that even minor mods, such as changing the material bridge adjusting screws are made of, can noticeably improve tone.

The kit includes components that enables the PRS owner to improve the overall tone and particularly the midrange response of any Custom and CE model made in the '80's and early '90's. Seven specific items on the guitar can be modified either all together or in any desired combination.

The kit comes with full instructions and is available from any PRS Guitars dealer, price $40.00.
