New Technics SX-PX332 and SX-PX334 Digital Pianos

January 28, 1999 -- Combining the true traditional sound of an acoustic piano with features available only from digital technology, Technics new SX-PX332 and SX-PX334 digital pianos have an incredible array of tones, timbres and acoustic nuances that are reproduced with startling realism for convincing Grand Piano sound.

"From concert hall to chamber music, the new PX series digital pianos are perfect for any venue," says Dan Slick, assistant general manager, Technics Musical Instruments Division. "in addition to a superb Grand Piano sound, both models enable the musician to give authentic acoustic performances."

Piano Ambiance Effect, a unique feature found on both models, adds intensity and breadth to any piece for a spacious quality reminiscent of on-stage acoustics. For smaller settings, switch the option to the "off' position and the pianos create a less intense texture for a more intimate sound. Grand Piano, meanwhile, provides a sound that's specifically rich, clear and textured, like a fine Concert Grand. And the acclaimed Technics concert touch Dynamic Action Keyboard gives these pianos a natural, grandpiano-like feel for achieving delicate nuances between notes. Each model offers three different levels of touch sensitivity for personal performer preference: light, normal and heavy.

The SX-PX334 has 64-note polyphony to tailor musical articulation to that of the musician. Fast scales, arpeggios, extensive pedal use and even complex chords become rich and satisfying. For added flexibility, this model also has nine varieties of preset organ and string sounds, enabling the musician to choose the best voice for each musical arrangement.

The SX-PX332 and SX-PX334 digital pianos also feature the standard threepedal design: the usual sustain and soft pedals, as well as a fully functioning sostenuto. For vocal accompaniments - or even conversation with the audience is a new microphone input, included on the SX-PX332.

Both models offer a 2-track internal sequencer with a capacity of 4,500 notes to make practicing and demos a snap.

The pianos have plenty of power for producing high sound output when needed. The SX-PX332 pumps out 80 watts of power (40 x 2), while the SX-PX334 is powered by a 120 waft amplifier (60 X 2).

The SX-PX332 and SX-PX334 digital pianos are available in black wood grain or simulated cherry wood grain finishes, with a large, sturdy music stand. These models will be available in March, 1999.
