Yamaha Announces GF Series Consoles

GF16/12

January 28, 1999 -- Yamaha Corporation of America, Pro Audio & Combo Division, announces the GF Series of sound reinforcement consoles. Available in 12-, 16-, and 24-channel models (the GF12/12, GF16/12 and GF24/12 respectively), these new 12-bus mixers provide a small-footprint, low-cost, live sound solution which is perfect for performing musicians, churches and small- to medium-size installations. The GF Series is scheduled to ship in April, 1999.

"The GF Series provides the routing flexibility and sonic quality that users are looking for," states John Schauer, product manager, Pro Audio Group. "We've performed extensive research on what customers want in an affordable mixing console and the GF Series is the result."

Each GF Series console features 12 output buses consisting of six auxiliary sends, four group outputs and a main stereo pair. Mono output is also available, derived from the stereo buss as either pre- or post-fader, which is ideal for center cluster situations often found in churches, for example. This configuration delivers a level of routing and mixing flexibility that makes all GF Series consoles ready to handle even the most demanding live sound situations.

All channels on the GF Series mixers feature a 3-band equalizer with a sweepable mid-range. Insert points are also provided on all mono channels and the main stereo bus. This allows for dynamics units and other signal processors to be easily inserted directly into the signal path. For stereo sources or effect return usage, the GF Series features two stereo channel inputs. Yamaha has also provided the GF Series with balanced XLR-type connectors for stereo and mono outputs, guaranteeing a clean signal between the console and a power amplifier.
