At Winter NAMM, Yamaha Corporation of America will make an announcement
that all drummers should take sitting down: The introduction of the DS-1000,
Yamaha's first hydraulic drum throne. The DS-1000 is actually only one
product in a whole new line of drum thrones designed to provide comfort,
reliability and Yamaha's renowned quality of construction to drummers
of all levels.

"Now Yamaha thrones have the price range and features to accommodate
the beginner to the most discerning professional," notes Dave Jewell,
product manager, Yamaha Drums.

The entry level DS-640 is the perfect perch for the developing drummer,
while the DS-740 offers the intermediate player a solid foundation behind
the drums. Stepping up, the DS-840 is ready to stand up to serious abuse,
thanks to the heavy-duty casting used to attach the seat to the base.
The DS-940 adds two features to the mix-an extra-stable quad base, and
a bench-style seat. In fact, the DS-940 and DS-1000 are the only thrones
on today's market to offer drummers the extended comfort and stability
provided by the bench-style seat.

The flagship DS-1000 is the most sophisticated drum throne available
today. It boasts all the features of the DS-940, plus a heavy-duty hydraulic
system (developed by the auto industry) that prevents bouncing, even during
a heavy workout.

"Yamaha's first hydraulic drum throne provides the player with a rock-solid,
comfortable drum throne that's built to the high standards of Yamaha hardware,"
adds Jerry Andreas, Drum marketing manager.
