Nothing was left off the long list of features of the Yamaha YDP101. The list includes 32 notes of polyphony, with Yamaha's "Light Weight AE" action. Add to that five voices with one variation each, including stereo piano, electric piano, strings, harpsichord, and organ. The list continues with an LED display, adjustable reverb, adjustable touch sensitivity, two-track sequencer, metronome, transposer and more.

Another innovation is the addition of a built-in song library consisting of 50 of the most popular piano songs complete with the music book.
