Yamaha YT250 Chromatic Tuner
January 28, 1999 -- To appeal to the value-conscious musician, Yamaha Corporation of America announces the launch of the YT250 Auto/Manual Chromatic Tuner at Winter NAMM '99. The new tuner employs Yamaha innovation to provide features normally found only in more expensive tuners. Building upon the success of the Yamaha YT150, the YT250 uses a liquid crystal display to precisely and quickly tune any instrument across eight octaves. Sharp/flat/in-tune LED indicators also make it remarkably easy to tune in the dark or from a distance. The tuner has both a condenser microphone and In/Out jacks, allowing it to tune virtually any musical instrument in either Auto or Manual mode. A 9-volt battery is included-unlike many other tuners-and Yamaha provides a 2-year warranty, twice the industry standard. "The YT250 tuner gives Yamaha an impressive line of value-oriented tuners when combined with the YT150," states Dave Ominsky, Accessory marketing manager. Other features of the new YT250 are a pitch-shift feature that allows off-center tuning from 435-446 Hz in 1 Hz increments, and a tilt slot in the back of the tuner so it can be propped up for easy viewing.
