Using the Whole Neck
Provided you have a basic grasp of theory, the chords we've looked at thus far should get you started in forming your own voicings. One of the coolest ways to take advantage of the seven-string is to extend chords across the neck.

This chord can be difficult to strum because some of the strings are muted, but it works very well for finger-style playing. As you fingerpick this chord, use your second finger to create bass movement by alternating between the low D on the B string and F# on the E string.
