Reason for pickup change: Dimarzios did not match well with my current Amp setup.

Sound

Perceived output level: Low output (most 12K in Bridge). Great all round pickups.
Tone: Very well balanced, works great with amp`s EQ shaping.
Sonic evaluation: I am running the Mule set through my Schecter with and Orange Rockerverb 100 head and 4x12 vintage 30`s cab. Just straight into the amp, the tone is a perfect for my sound and musical taste. A great balanced set of pickups, bridge clear, smooth highs and great warm mids...plenty of clarity to allow the low `B` to breathe. It just compliments the Rockerverbs hard rocking sound. The Dimarzios were ceramic magnets with just a horrible buzz and completely over shadowed the characteristics of the guitar, the Mules with Alnico V`s allow the guitars tone to just leap out of the amp. EQ shaping allows almost every style to be possible. The Mule is a great warm, organic sounding pickup.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: For my Stoner/Doom/Blues style these pickups are perfect. Perhaps really high-gain metal (ie: Meshuggah) would just not be possible through these, but for Orange amps these are a perfect match.

Overall Rating

Comments: First off, a complete 100% 10/10 to Tim @ Bare Knuckle for the products, knowledge, patience and ethos to create the best sounding pickups I have had the pleasure to play.

I have been playing for the best part of 9 years and spent quite a lot of money on what I percieve to be my `tone` and feel these pickups have just slotted the whole sound into place.

Compared to the stock p`ups and Dimarzios these are just such a warm, organic tone....but no two ears are the same, and the beauty of tone is individuality. Bare Knuckle can tackle any of the main dealers head on with their products, cover any style base and retain indivuduality that makes each of us want to pick up and play...

I do wish that a few cover options were available for us Seven Stringers™ but that visual niggle aside, I really cannot fault the service or sound I now have. Kudos to all @ BK

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this pickup a: 10 Fantastic value
