This fine piece of work was made in 1966, and features two original Gold Frame Bulldog speakers in an open back cabinet, made from 13 ply Baltic Birch. The cabinet is probably about 3/4 closed back, with a small hole so you may look in and view the speakers. Its 8 ohm, and the two speakers probably put out about 50- 100 watts of power, not exactly sure on their exact handling capabilities. Other than that its a 37 year old cabinet.
Sound Quality: 10
I use this cabinet with a Heritage 150CM, and a Marshall JTM45, and the sounds are absolutely heavenly. I've never heard my Marshall be so touch sensitive to a cabinet before this. The only thing that worries me is that these speakers aren't being produced anymore, so if one blows, then I don't know what I'll do.
Reliability: 10
This cabinet has been through World War III and back, as it belonged to a good friend for about 15 years, and he used out at gigs, and played through it loud. However, the speakers are still healthy sounding, and the cabinet is still very tight sounding. Its 37 years old, and its still out making music, I'd say its reliable.
Customer Support: N/A
I don't think Vox would still support this.
Overall Rating: 10
I've been playing for around 5 years now, and this cabinet with my Marshall is easily the best tone that I've ever had in my life. I just hope nothing bad happens to the cabinet, because its become a very important part of my sound already. These Alnico Bulldog speakers that came in this cabinet, are an absolute thing of beauty, and I'll really cry when they finally go, cause I'll have to find replacements, that will probably sound nothing like the originals.
