This is an amp for the pure at heart. Think Jeff Buckley. It is not a versatile peice of machinary by any stretch of the imagination. I dont believe in an amp being versatile however. It is far better to run different amps for different purposes in my humble opinion. So I have a Marchall for the crunchier high gain stuff. The features are good. Tremelo - havn't played around with this yet. Sounds sharper with these set down. Reverb is the most important effect on a clean amp. Gives it nice depth. Don't overdo it however you will lose the tone.

For a solid state amp at this price you won't get a better one. You need to own a single coil guitar to make this sparkle. I own a 1984 American Telecaster and the complement is ham and cheese. I am after the Buckley shimmer and purity and this baby satisfies. This amp does not colour the sound as much as many I have used. If you have decent pickups on your guitar you will get a decent sound. I have been running Fender Hotrod Deluxes in the past. They can be temperamental and you either get a good one or a bad one. I always find them bassy and to black. They all need replacement speakers, valves to get the sparkle out of them. This amp does not do a great distorted sound. It is not supposed to. It is a little noisy. at rest
Reliability: 8
I use it as a practice amp at the moment. Just bought it so don't know. Solid state so expect longevity and no costly valve replacements.

Havn't run into any problems as of yet. It is new at the moment. The warranty is one year

I have been playing for 8 years. I would grab another one if it was nicked. In a nut shell its a cheap amp that delivers a pure tone not expected in a solid state peice of machinary. It is only going to please if you appreciate a straight plug in sound without loads of masking. I'm very happy with it. They have been selling like hotcakes apparently. Fender need to do allot of work on getting that sparkle back.

this is great little amp for little stages.exept the distortion channel, its crappy.tremolo is really great,it makes this little bastard sounds like his bigger brothers. it sure is a noisy for a 15watt amp. clean channel is the best i`ve ever heard in this price. the reverb is quite lousy too,but who cares, the basic sound is superb. GREAT FOR BLUES !!!
Sound Quality: 9
my tele found a longlost brother on that little bastard. i tried that amp with my loved strato, but they didn`t get welld. the amp isn`t very noisy to compare to other tubeamps i own...but you`re not gonna drag the very HOT`NSTIFF sound when you need it. clean sound is great..distortion sound suckss.

Lately I got bored with playing ONLY quietly, which means guitar+vamp2+headphones...but those were the days my friend… before entering guitarstores I did some homework. HarmonyClinic`s, and others, reviews helped a lot. It took some time allright, but I came up with few amps that I really wanted to HEAR before deciding which one was ment for me. Reviews GENERALLY give you a good possibility to compare products before you`re heading to ampjungle! I really didn`t want to end up buying another amp after few months - just because of poor, hesitated, deal .
This was my need: practice/homeuse/small gigs-amp with certain class but still in a price range 100-350 e.
And I came up with these: Orange Crush 15W / 15Wr , Behringer AC Vintager 112, Marshall mg50dfx, Laney TF-50/TF-100, Crate gfx-15 and classie Vox`s: Cambridge 15 (manufacture ended, still at least electromusic.co.uk sells those for e189+shipping) Cambridge 30 +30 twin and finally, pathfinder15-series: pf15 e129, pf15r e159 & this pf 15exr e200. I never were too interested with Fender Bullet Reverb or Fender generally in this pricerange. Same goes with Fender`s guitars, good for a millionaire, I really don`t dream about having a Fender of my own…
My guitar is 4sc Yamaha Pac604w, 2 Alc single coins with 1 Alc twin sc with Sperzel`s and Wilkinson. Check review. Good choise indeed. I really like the clean sounds most, but still want flexibility and variations in tones, with first class parts.
So the amps: Marshall, I think, is for someone playing with more gain & tougher humbuckers . Still a praised one. Crate jams, but I hate the looks. My wife could drop it to trashbox. With vamp2 I didn`t want a amplifier filled with effects. Or didn`t need to buy one. No Vintager thanks. Never got a good offer for Laney`s and there just where something i disliked. Oranges melted me when I red reviews, no wonder, but there was none - couldn`t buy! And in the other hand: Pathfinder really impacted me: Its beautiful. And the sound..uuuh….
Vamp2 has a "VOX-type"-sounds that I love, but I Think that you get the most out of it with headphones - or simply playing amp bypassed. Pathfinder itself isn`t AC-30, but surely theres something in common. A lot has talked about a Vox-sound and it`s warm tone. Call it what you like but Pathfinder sounds warm exactly. It may or may not suit all types, but obviously with single coins it`s all I wanted. I play U2, Straits, Rea, Rolling Stones and likes and I`m happy with what this baby has to offer. The sound really reminds me that it`s a true british 60`s product.
First I thought that vamp2 would always have a part in my now and then playing but since then I tend to play without. Partly also because I want to concentrate to playing NOT to turning knobs - get the picture?
Gain is cabable also. Vamp2`s gain is very muddy compared to this - somehow - at least with my guitar. Even with gain boost this is incredible, singlecoins rock! Cambridge 15 is said to be even better (tubelovers?) than pf15 , but knowing it`s made with almost the same components with it`s bigbrother Cambridge 30 that has really bad reviews about ( there was many positive reviews also). plus no reverb. I Skip. Between the lines, I do not think all good amps come with tube inside.
The Pathfinder’s 15 Watts of power drives a 10" Vox/Celestion Blue Bulldog. To me it looks like the same 10" I saw once in Cambridge 30?? Many reviews have declared that Pathfinder could use bigger Celestion (for small gigs) and here it is! The speaker is two inch larger, amps backpanel talks about 20W, well, who cares about exact numbers, this is enough for what it`s made for. Celestion`s 15W is louder than average anyways. Tremolo-buttons are funny. You can variate it`s speed and depth. A joy to use. Cheaper model has also tremolo, but no reverb. Amazing. Reverb has so big effect on sound! Is a trem more important? Rearpanel has output / external speaker / footsw
Reliability: 8
PROBLEMS with reverb-button: When brought home it made a rattling noise, which got louder when turned "higher" with no reverb at all! Then, out of the bloom, with attempt nine or ten: Got reverb (and rattling). And finally after as many new attempts: clear and wonderful reverb. Mine is a slight mystery…it has worked properly ever since, but…(had it one month)

Been playing for 3 years, but still I`m an old-dude. One more thing about this amp: pla pla plaa about a tiny thing that I didn`t even mind at first, but those turningknobs are the type you wish them to be: glad to use and big enough. OK, Now I have to buy my daughter those guinea-pigs I promised when buying this amp. What a wonderful world.
