The UL710
An all valve design, the 710 is a single channel amplifier which is light weight and is great sounding. It came with a couple of different styled chrome stands. One with a double bar set up as in the photo above and another which allowed the speaker cabinet to be leaned back while the amplifier head remained level not unlike Fender amplifiers. Most UL710's were marketed to the mainland European countries and were listed in German sales catalogs as late as 1968. It is suspected that only 50 individual UL710 units were produced in total.

1250 Dutch guilders make 570 euro.
See Franks description above; all you need. Power not enough for searious gigging. Mine has no stand, no foot pedal and the reverb is broken. The head is seperate from the speaker.
Sound Quality: 8
Couldn't stop playing my Fender Jazzmaster (62 reissue). Sweet bells and smooth vibrato. The clean sound is very good and addictive. My humbucker (old Ibanez ST50) doesn't match that well.
My UL710 doesn't give any usable distortion at all, at vol 10 the speakers start to make unpleasent sounds while the tube distortion is just beginning to kick in. That's okay, the clean sound makes up for it.
I wonder what tubes Frank uses...
The vibrato makes a "woof-woof-woof" sound that is audible when not playing.
Reliability: 6
I took it out on a gig once and trouble started; the sound sputtered and was weak. Otherwise it's okay. The connector to the speaker is a little weak too.

When I bought this one i was very pleased with the open clear sound, but even in the studio I hardly ever use it. The clean sound and vibrato can also be aquired with the AC30, and if you have a nice one of those (not all are alike) the UL710 is not really a big addition.
But still: it's a very good amp with a very musical tone and it beats almost all the stuff you find in a music store nowadays. I doubt I will ever sell it.

Built in very limited quantity (appr. 200) in 1966 by Triumph for Jennings Musical Industries. This amp is experimental in the development of Vox late-60'ies solid state line. One channel, hi and low input, top boost on/off, treble, middle, bass, trem speed, trem depth, reverb depth. Reverb runs independently past pre-amp. Head attached to cab with screws. Cab has 2x10" Vox Celestions and legs on the sides. All-valv amp with 2xEL84 output valves. Two-button footswitch. Power rating is 10-15 watt. Efficient tone controls, great vibrato and very special reverb. Best as home/practice/studio amp. It is the ideal amp for recording work. One of the only two Vox models to feature both tremolo, reverb and top boost. Point-to-point wiring and tag strip.
Sound Quality: 10
The best amp sound ever fabricated - I am dead serious! It beats my vintage AC-30. All guitars sound good on this amp. The overall sound is very clean and crisp. The UL is supposed to mean Ultra-Linear. At loud volumes it breaks up and at max it is screaming metal. No well-known recordings of this amp, but very similar to Jimmy Page's tone on Blue Train. Again, this amp will never go for sale. I want to be buried in it. This is Vox' best kept secret.
Reliability: 10
I have gigged with it a bit, but never dared to turn it past 5. Totally reliable. I have never had a failing component. Only replace is the rubber band suspension in the reverb unit and valves. Anyway, the valves are almost out in the open, so cooling will never be a problem on this model.

Vintage amps have no support. Find a reliable tech with a sense of vintage gear. But I have never needed a repair.

I have played electric for more than 20 years. Believe it or not, but this is my first valve amp. I found it while I was looking for an AC-30. I was initially disappointed by the low wattage rating, but the looks of this thing told me that I was onto something, so I bought it at a ridiculously low price. Now I have a '63 AC-30, but it just doesn't sound as good as the UL710, only louder. All my amps are Vox except a Selmer Zodiac. I also have a couple of british solid state Vox and I love them. What I love about this amp? It looks and sounds so Beatles, there's so few of them and it's mine! It would be one of the greatest losses of my life if it got lost. What I hate about it? Being so rare it would be difficult to replace.
