Purchased my Cm Assymetrical Classic new about a month ago on eBay. Built in 2004 It is absolutely one of the finest, if not the finest guitar I've ever owned, and I've owned some of the very best ie Martin D28 & D18, Taylor 714, 910, Larrivee OMV60, Collings C10 & OOO1, Goodall Grand Concert & several lesser guitars.
Western Red Cedar top, highly figured Walnut back and sides, bound Ebony fretboard, Abalone rosette, Linear Fusion inlays, Bloodwood binding, bone nut and saddle, gold Schaller tuners, L.R. Baggs Dual Element pickup, Deluxe hard shell case.
Sound: 10
This guitar 'sings' to me when I play her. The trebles are crystal clear and the bass is deep, but not muddy or overpowering. They higss and lows actually compliment each other, instead of competing. The action is low and the neck is smooth as butter.
I play mostly fingerstyle and a little flat picking when the mood hits me. The sharp venetian cutaway allows me to get way down to some of the Django notes that I love to play.
This guitar rocks. . .
Action, Fit, & Finish: 10
The guitar was set up low. . .just the way I like it. I haven't used the L.R. Baggs pickup yet.
The fit and finish of this guitar is absolutely perfect. The high gloss finish is like glass. I generally like a satin finish, but this finish has me lovin' it.
No flaws at all. This baby is perfect.
Reliability/Durability: 10
Have only owned the CM for a couple of months now, but I would think this guitar will last. It's extremely well made. . .It's the kind of guitar that you want to look at just as much as play. And it's making me a better player every time I pick it up.

Sent an email to them just after receiving the CM. Wanted to know when it was made and gave them the serial number. Got an answer within 24 hours. Haven't needed to use the warranty (don't think I ever will) or get any repairs. They offer a lifetime warranty to the original owner.
Overall Rating: 10
Playing off and on since the late 60's. I would cry a lot if it were lost or stolen and would DEFINATELY buy another.
Love the ease of playing and the way it makes my music sound. Love the way it looks and smells.
If you can afford a Breedlove CM, don't hesitate. . .go play one. . .you'll take it home.

1998 Breedlove - Model "CM" Made in Tumalo, Oregon U.S.A. This is an AWESOME example of what I call "Sonic Art"!!! A feast for the eyes as well as ears...wasn't sure if I should play it or display it! This guitar was hand made and signed by company owner Steve Henderson. It is a 20 fret instrument with a solid Sitka Spruce top, Striped Ebony back and sides, satin finish Mahogany neck with Ebony fingerboard and bridges. This model came with a Bloodwood binding on the body edges, fingerboard and soundhole including a stunning abalone treatment encircling it. Body style is BreedLoves award-winning asymmetrical design with long top and shallow depth in concert form. The body length is 21 5/8", width is 16 1/8", and 4 5/16" depth. Standard nut width is 1 3/4". Other tone woods, inlays, and electronics are optional. A plushlined Breedlove hardshell case was included.
Sound: 9
I've been playing on and off for over 20 years using both electrics as well as acoustics and feel this is a guitarists dream! Whether one is a fingerstylist, flatpicker or both...the tone this instrument produces is just awesome! Well balanced low to high, a voicing that balances powerful projection and resonance combined with fantastic clarity! I gave this a 9 only because I feel the bottom end could have a bit more punch but that may be taken care of by switching strings!
Action, Fit, & Finish: 10
Five stars in this catagory as this is a hand-made guitar. Lots of eye appeal here...definetly a "Looker" !!!
Reliability/Durability: 10
I believe this guitar will last many moons...it's a custom hand-made instrument! As I said above, I didn't know whether to play it or display it! It's that Awesome!

My only other instrument is a Custom Shop Strat. I would surely by this again if it were lost or stolen! Compared Martins, Taylors, etc. I wanted a Contemporary instrument with traditional craftsmanship and value - this is IT! I'm giving this an 8 overall as I feel it should have electronics included for the price, otherwise it's pure American innovation as well as Craftmanship! Take in their website, you'll be totally amazed...then make sure you play one!
