Price Paid: US $1450

Features: 10
Made in Oregon in 1999. #2 of 10 special edition. 14 frets to the body, with soft cutaway. Solid Red Cedar Top, beautiful solid Koa back and sides. Came with a Baggs LB-6 pickup. Neck is one-piece solid mahoghany. Gloss finish. Mini-Grover tuners. Neck is 1.75" at the nut. Came with original Breedlove case. Impeccable workmanship, and a very beautiful guitar. Very light and comfortable to hold and play.

Amazing sound. I play blues, pop, new age, and it fits all of them. The sustain is long, each string articulates well. Warm and rich bass, clear mids, and ringing highs. I buy and keep guitars for their sound, and this one will never be sold...incredibly rich sound, but can play loud and strong or soft and hauntingly sweet. No dislikes at all.

Action, Fit, & Finish: 10
I bought the guitar used (but in excellent + condition), and so do not know what the action was like from Breedlove, but the action now is like an electric guitar, low, very, very easy to play, causes no hand, wrist, or arm fatigue. The materials, fit and finish are impeccable. Bookmatched back, very close grain on top. I see no flaws at all.

Reliability/Durability: 10
I have never had a Breedlove before, and this one is relatively new to me, so I cannot commenet on reliability or durability, but it is very well made. Strap buttons very solid, and I feel that I can depend on the guitar. To be honest, I would not take this fabulous guitar to a gig, as it is too special to me.

Customer Support: 10
I emailed the company to complement them on the guitar, and got immediate response from the U.S. sales manager, who was extremely helpful in informing me about the history of the guitar, materials, etc. I have not tried to get it repaired, but I understand that the lifetime warranty does not apply to me since I am not the original owner.

Overall Rating: 10
I have been playing 40 years, and have owned Martins, Taylors, Robertsons, Ovations, Guilds, Gibsons, Takemines, Seagulls, and Pimentels. It is far superior to everything but Pimentels. Breedlove tone is more clear and balanced, perhaps the most balanced and articulate I have ever heard, while Pimentels have a unique tone that just has to be heard to understand. If lost or stolen, I would immediately go back to get a Breedlove.

This is a 2004/2005 model that was made in Oregon, USA. There are 22 frets. The top is solid western red cedar, and the back and sides are Koa. The pickup is LR Baggs Imix dual source system. The system is excellent. The only drawback I would mention is that changing the battery is not easy unless there are no strings on the guitar. The neck is made of solid mahogany with a satin finish. The body has a gloss finish. Body style is Breedlove's deep body grand concert. The bridge is the pinless system. Tunier are gold mini grovers. The width of the neck at the nut is 1 3/4" The scale length is 25.5" The deluxe luggage case is included with this guitar.

Sound: 10
The sound is awesome. It is rich, full and balanced, and adaptably to any style of music. I use a Crate CA-30D with it at home, or at church it goes through a direct box to the mixer. There is a good bass response, good mids, and the treble is not harsh like some guitars.

Action, Fit, & Finish: 10
The guitar was set up well from the factory. The action is medium low. Playability is very good. There are no flaws on this guitar. It is perfect aesthetically and functionally.

Reliability/Durability: 10
This guitar will definitely withdstand live performance. The hardware seems sturdy. The finish is excellent. Strap buttons are very good. This is a guitar that you could easily use without a backup.

Customer Support: 10
I called the company just to let them know how much I liked the guitar, and inquire about the battery pouch. They were very supportive, congenial and happy to assist. The warranty is a limited lifetime warranty.

Overall Rating: 10
I've been playing off and on for 31 years. I own a Taylor 912CE L7, a Larrivee LV-03RE and this Breedlove. I asked a lot of questions before purchasing because I had never played a Breedlove. I purchased sight unseen, though I was able to look at pictures and hear a sound clip. If it were stolen or lost, I would seek to replace it. This is #5 of 10 made. This is a great guitar, and highly recommended. Breedlove does not push quantity over quality.
