This is a 2001 Guitar with an active Fishman bidge pick up and an internal mic. It has all the standard controls and an equalizer along with a blender for the pick up and mic. The top is solid western red cedar and the back and sides are solid myrtlwood. The fret board is ebony over mahogany with tiny off set dot inlays. The sound hole is lined with abalone. The tuners are smaller Grovers that are chrome plated. It has a wider neck than the taylors I play but this seems to be very comfortable as the neck itself is much thinner. The body style is a grand concert with a soft cutaway. No brige pins, simular to the Ovation. I wish that it had a front strap button like the Taylors.

Sound: 10
I bought this guitar because I wanted an acoustic that I could plug in. I tried a lot of guitars in the $2,000 range. I would easly say that none came close pluged in or not. This guitar has a rich deep base and sparkly highs mids are there but not over dominating.

Action, Fit, & Finish: 10
Breedlove makes a guitar that is impeckable in fit finish and craftsmanship. You have to see these guitatrs for yourself. My guitar has a cedar top and myrtlewood side and back. The myrltewood is a lighter wood the is highly figured and even has a little tiger striping going on. The "S" series is the plane version of the performance series, but there is more vulue for the dollar. There is no diference in workmanship.

Reliability/Durability: N/A
Very new to early to tell. The guitar comes with a lifetime warrenty, this tells me that they are standing behind what they sell.

Customer Support: N/A
Have not had to use this as of yet. I did e-mail them for more information, haven't seen it yet or got an answer, but it has only been a few days.

Overall Rating: 10
I have been playing for about 7 years, sort of a project me and my son did. I have Taylors an 810 and a 410 plus 2 Ovations, one is a 12 string. The only one that comes close to this guitar is the 810. I am getting used to the wider neck and I ththink I like it. I compared this guitar to Taylor 512CE and a 712CE. No comparison. For me it was a very easy choice. THe thing I love is this guitar is light, but has a big sound.
