2005 model. Features are the same as already listed below. If you're into pretty or something to sit in a stand in your living room and look at then this is perfect. Usefull features include a built in tuner which quite often did not recognise the correct string being tuned. Built in electronics are awkward to use due to the location down by your right forearm. In the course of playing, my arm would actually roll on or off the volume and contour settings. Neck has a great feel and frets are finished very nicely.
Sound

Did not care for the sound either plugged in or unplugged. Unplugged sound was very compressed and tight because of the plywood construction. Plugged in sound was very bright and grated on my nerves like someone running their finger nails on a chalk board. Sounded somewhat better through my Fender acoustic amp.

Low action, no buzzing, good set up off the rack. Good finish inside and out - no runs, drips or errors noticeable. Again, a very pretty and a nice feel to your left hand.

Have been playing professionally for 30 years and play out every week. Have owned many different guitars both electric and acoustic. Main guitar is a Taylor 310ce limited with a spruce/maple combination and the ES system. It is easily the best overall guitar I have ever owned and that includes more expensive Taylors. I am admittedly spoiled by this guitar and it is making it difficult to be happy with a second guitar even just for a backup. I tried many different signal chain setups to try to get the plugged in sound better but just could not be happy with any of them. The Ibanez also refused to stay in tune which I have zero tolerance for. I refuse to spend half a gig tuning a guitar!! Returned the Ibanez to Guitar Center after having it about a month. I think there are better options out there.

maple top back and sides, a solid guitar with amazing craftmanship...nice small body with a nice b-band/ibanzez pickup with EQ and phase. Gold grovers are nice, and keeps in tune really well...the only thing that sucks is that it doesnt come with a 2nd strap button, i had to get one installed =/

the craftmanship on this guitar is unbelieveable...with maple backs, tops and sides, its a very solid guitar....with the block inlays, its a pretty guitar...im a fan of smaller guitars rather then dreads so it fits well...it would have been a perfect 10 but i gotta say the action is too high....i had to lower the action a bit....

ive been playing for 7 yrs and i have a martin 312ce....it plays just as well but a little too flashy for my taste....its definiely worth getting as i only paid 350 shipped....and u can find it for around 4-500 on ebay.....maybe a little cheaper...they need to put a 2nd strap buton and lower the action a little bit....other than that its a steal for what ur paying....

All quilted maple slimline cut-away acoustic/electric with Fishman Shape-Shifter electronics (like the X-Files, I guess). Rosewood fingerboard with abalone block inlays, bound neck, Grover tuners and a carved back. It's got gold hardware, but I won't hold that against it.
It has 1/4" and XLR jacks.
It doesn't come with a case or anything, but if you buy it at Guitar Center, it comes with a condescending attitude.
The guitar is beautiful craftsmanship for a mid-range Korean guitar. It's amazing what you can accomplish when there's a nuclear missile pointed at you.

It's got a good sound. It holds tune and is pretty balanced. The low E string isn't as bassy or rich as you'd expect, but given that the body is shallow, cut-away and maple, maybe you should expect that.
This guitar's hidden punch is in the electronics. It sounds great plugged into an amp. It's well-balanced. High strings are bright, low strings are rich and bassy, with just a hint of mocha.
The Shape-Shifter EQ includes bass, mid, treble and shape. I tried to change the shape, but no matter what I do, it still looks like a guitar. :)
Actually, the shape offers a bend in the range without having to adjust the other EQ settings. Nice. And the phase button helps cut down on feedback resonance from the speaker cabinet.

The action is good, the neck was straight, and the intonation is good. I've read that shrinkage in this guitar line can cause the bracing to show through the face. But I haven't seen this, though. Perhaps they fixed the problem.
The finish is excellent. The cherry sunburst has a rich depth to it.

This guitar is going to sit on a stand in my family room. I don't play out, so roadworthiness isn't really important to me. But judging by the contruction and the precision of the craftsmanship, it looks as though it would stand up well to moderate abuse.

I haven't encountered any problems, so I wouldn't know. But Guitar Center is good about taking stuff back, and the Ibanez offers has a one-year warranty.

I used to make fun of Ibanez guitars. "Ibanhad!"
But this guitar made me take another look. I'm not a fan of Ibanez's penchance for the heavy metal crowd, and the AE series is a nice departure.
The craftsmanship and sound from this guitar is something that you usually find on guitars costing twice as much. I'm very happy with this purchase. While it might not stack up against a Martin or an Olson, it is definitely a lot of guitar for the money.
If you're not caught up in the location or name-brand scene, take a look at this guitar. It's a great guitar at a great value.

i've been playing for 20 yrs, but who cares. i work steady in a band and i like good deals when i can find them, this was a real good deal. the guitar lists for $800, and i got it for $400, i can't complain. i have never owned an ibanez before, but i'll give anything a try once. i could care less where a guitar is made, as long as it plays/ sounds good. if you have a chance to get one of these i don't think you would be disapointed. buy it.
