Opcode Releases Musicshop 2.0 October 21, 1996
Opcode Systems, Inc., today announced the
release of an update to its entry-level MIDI sequencing software, Musicshop.
Version 2.0 adds new features tothis award winning software, and makes Musicshop
available for both Macintosh and Windows computers. Musicshop brings musical
ideas to life perform a piece of music, play it back and print it out. Easy
to use, full featured and inexpensive, Musicshop is a seamless environment
that allows users to view their sequences in both piano roll and standard
notation. Recording and playback are done with familiar tape deck controls.
Music shaping is achieved by using Opcode's intuitive Strip-Chart. Major
enhancements to the new version include 32 tracks of multichannel recording,
a 32 track automated mixer, full OMS (Open Music System) support, comprehensive
interactive help and virtually unlimited nested sequences. "Beginning MIDI
users will find that both the Macintosh and Windows versions of Musicshop
offer unprecedented ease of use and power," notes Victor Medina, Musicshop

Other enhancements to Musicshop include WYSIWYG Print Preview, refined Quantization
controls support for QuickTime Musical Instruments (Macintosh only), real-time
editing, Opcode Galaxy patch librarian compatibility and on-line help via
the Internet (Windows only). For a limited time, the upgrade and new retail
purchases will include 100 royalty free general MIDI songs in such diverse
musical styles as country, neck, jazz, and classical. Musicshop has a suggested
retail price of US $149.95 (Macintosh)and US $99.95 (Windows). It is available
in academic lab packs (licensing for five machines) to qualified educators.
The Musicshop upgrade is available for US $59.95 to all registered Musicshop
and EZ Vision veers.
