Allen & Heath Unveils DR128 Digital Contractor Mixer

Sound contractors can now bid farewell to the painstaking wiring of multiple rack units thanks to Allen & Heath's new DR128 digital mixer, which combines mix, gain and level functions, gates, compressors, graphic and parametric EQs and many more facilities into a single 2U system.
Eliminating the need for numerous rack modules that require large amounts of rack space, the DR128 comprises 12 inputs to 8 outputs as a cross point matrix with comprehensive ducking features. At each input and output, the installer may choose from a wide variety of signal processing facilities, every bit as professional as those of traditional industry rack units, making the DR128 uniquely versatile.
Guaranteed to change the way consultants, contractors and installers approach sound system design, the DR128 can fulfill complex mix matrix applications. As a digital system, infinite parameters and configurations can be saved on the unit's 16 internal memory patches or stored to disk. The DR128's user interface is graceful in its simplicity, with just 12 user-definable soft keys and an LED screen on the front panel. Keys may be assigned functions as simple as a volume control or as complex as a complete system configuration change depending on the user's needs.
Ideal for mixing all music, speech, video and satellite broadcast audio to multiple zones, the DR128 is also fully capable of serving in a wide range of other applications, from completely integrated sound systems to operating as eight 31-band graphic EQs for onstage monitor mixes, or multi-channel surround-sound panning for film and video.
Pioneering algorithms, designed by Allen & Heath's Digital Research team, allow the DR128 to be expanded internally, more than tripling the power and capabilities of the base unit. Delays can be added, as well extensive possibilities for remote control.
