Gadget Labs Releases WaveZIPTM Software for Loss-Free Compression of WAV Files

Gadget Labs announced today that it has begun shipping its new WaveZIP software for Windows® 95 and Windows NT. WaveZIP is the first Windows software application that's purpose-built to reduce the size of large digital audio WAV files.

Based on the Windows® Explorer look-and-feel, WaveZIP allows users to quickly find, select and convert digital audio files. Typical compression rates are 30-60%, depending on content material. Multiple PC audio file types are supported including stereo and mono, 8 or 16 bit WAV files, raw PCM audio files and Cakewalk® BUN files.
WaveZIP is the first product to incorporate patent-pending technology called MUSICompress(TM) from Soundspace Audio. Designed specifically for digital audio files, MUSICompress benchmark tests indicate speed and compression ratios that are far superior to general purpose compression technologies such as PKZIP®.
