Steinberg Announces Clean! Audio CD Burning Software

September 2, 1998

At CeBit Home'98 Steinberg presents the brand new CD recording program Clean! This intuitive and easy-to-use software is just the right answer for producing your own Audio CDs under Windows 95/98 and NT.

In addition to audio recording and elementary editing functions, Clean! also offers four high quality real-time restoration modules for declicking, denoising, descratching and enhancing your recordings. The modules - based on the highly acclaimed Steinberg WaveLab technology - are also specially designed to refresh audio recordings whose quality may have originally suffered through being produced on vinyl, cassette, or similar media.

Just record your favourite LP or tape into the computer. As soon as the music exists in digital format on the hard drive, simply activate the required process. If you have a faster computer (i.e. a Pentium® II) you can even listen to all four real-time processes simultaneously, and adjust the various parameters, until you have reached the desired level of "cleanliness". After that the audio recording will be calculated "clean" and will appear "processed" in the track list, ready for burning.

Clean! offers presets for different sound sources (Cassette/Vinyl/CD etc.) and can handle up to 99 titles per track list. Every title can be performed with a Fade In and Fade Out. To help you keep track of the entire compilation process, Clean! exports the track list as a text file and lets you print this as a CD cover if required.

Clean! supports all standard CD burners using disc-at-once mode. IDE-Burners are also supported. Clean! needs a Pentium II for real-time performance of all four "cleaning" processes. For more detailed and specialised work, Clean! also includes the Steinberg Wave Editor WaveLab Lite.

Clean! will be available in the stores from October onwards priced at DM 199/US $99.
