Ionizer 1.2.6 from Arboretum Includes Pro Tools Compatibility
September 1, 1998Arboretum Systems today announced the availability the new AudioSuite edition of Ionizer, the high performance noise reduction and mastering tool. AudioSuite compatibility means that users of Digidesign Pro Tools audio editing software, Emagic Logic Audio and the Avid Media Composer 7.0 or Avid Xpress 2.0 non-linear video editing systems can now access Ionizer's noise reduction and powerful multiband dynamic processing.
A Power Mac-native application, Ionizer version 1.2.6 offers fast spectral analysis and 512 bands of gated EQ per channel, which can be utilized for dynamic noise reduction, equalization, limiting, compression and expansion, all at 32-bit floating point internal precision. Ionizer's noise reduction out-performs all comparable products in terms of the sheer sound quality which can be achieved. Ionizer includes special controls which eliminate the chirps, flanging and ringing artifacts associated with other NR products.
Unlike other analog and digital EQs, Ionizer's linear phase filters offer equalization that is entirely free of phase interference. And Ionizer is completely user-configurable, allowing applications such as limiting the low end, expanding the midrange and compressing the high end all in a single pass.
New features in Ionizer version 1.2.6 include:

Ionizer is a plug-in for the Digidesign AudioSuite format. Upon installation in the DAE Plug-ins folder it may be used in Digidesign Pro Tools and Emagic Logic Audio, as well as the Avid Media Composer 7.0 and Avid Xpress 2.0 non-linear video editing systems.
Ionizer also operates as a plug-in effect within any MacOS Premiere-compatible audio application, including Adobe Premiere, Macromedia DECK II, Opcode Vision and StudioVision, MOTU Digital Performer 2.1, Bias Peak, Emagic Logic Audio 3.0, Cakewalk Metro 4 and Gallery TurboMorph.
Ionizer will additionally run in a stand-alone mode on any Power Macintosh through Arboretum's HyperEngine shell. HyperEngine features the exciting capability of using Ionizer in a play-through mode for processing external signals in real-time, much like a hardware effect device. Other HyperEngine advantages include unlimited-length disk-based preview and the ability to run multiple Ionizer windows concurrently for complex multi-effects.
Ionizer works with the Mac built-in audio hardware, includes special direct support for Audiomedia II and III and the 1212I/O and also will run on other Mac sound cards with appropriate Sound Manager drivers. Audiomedia III and Pro Tools 24-bit hardware users can take advantage of their systems' full capabilities with Ionizer, so as to process 24-bit digital signals at the highest possible resolution.
